1/29/2020 7:33:00 PM | Men's Basketball

EAST LANSING, Mich.-  The Northwestern Wildcats fell on the road to 14th-ranked Michigan State 79-50 on Wednesday evening

Pat Spencer led the team with 11 points, seven of which came in the first half, marking Spencer's 12th game in double figures this season.

Robbie Beran chipped in eight points and six rebounds, a team high. He also connected on four free throws for a new career high.

Tino Malnati made his fourth appearance of the season, grabbing a rebound in the process.

The Wildcats showed fight in the opening half, digging themselves out of a deep hole to open the game. After trailing 16-2 with 13:12 left in the first half, the 'Cats were able to cut the deficit to three with 7:31 remaining, thanks in large part to a 9-0 run.

Northwestern could not amount to a comeback after Michigan State pulled ahead early in the second half with a 14-0 run.

The Wildcats return to the court on Saturday to host Purdue at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on BTN.
