The Northwestern men's soccer team returns to Martin Stadium after defeating No. 25 Maryland, 3-1 in the Big Ten Opener with goals from Bardia Kimiavi, Matt Moderwell and Ty Seager. The Wilcats look to extend their hot streak this week as they take on cross-town foe, UIC before resuming Big Ten play against Ohio State. Sophomore Bardia Kimiavi leads the offense with three goals this season while senior goalkeeper Miha Miskovic places fourth in the Big Ten in saves.

Women's Soccer continues its three-game road trip to start Big Ten play with a pair of tough tests against Nebraska on Thursday and on Sunday. Thursday's game against the Huskers will be televised nationally on BTN.
The 'Cats are coming off a trip to Illinois, where Regan Steigleder scored a goal from the penalty spot to enter a tie for the Wildcat active leader in points with eight with classmate Nia Harris.

The Wildcats are currently riding a six-game winning streak after sweeping a weekend road trip in Ohio which included a 4-1 win at No. 12 Ohio State on Friday to kick off Big Ten play and a 5-2 victory at Miami (OH) on Sunday. Redshirt first-year Bente Baekers recorded hat tricks in both of the Wildcats' wins, earning her Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors for a second-straight week along with the conference's Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors. Baekers is the first Wildcat since Candice Cooper in 2004 to record a hat trick in consecutive games and now is tied for most goals in the nation with 14 on the season. Additionally, senior Kirsten Mansfield currently leads the Big Ten with nine assists on the season.
Northwestern will look to continue its hot streak this week as the 'Cats play their first home conference games of the season against two ranked opponents. On Friday, the Wildcats host No. 23 Michigan State at 3 p.m. and then welcome in No. 9 Michigan on Sunday at noon. Northwestern already owns four ranked wins this season, three of which have come on the road. The Wildcats' defense has been exceptional of late, as Northwestern has allowed two goals or fewer in each of its last eight games.

The Wildcat wrapped up their non-conference schedule after claiming the Chicago Cup Championship for the third consecutive year. After falling to Loyola 3-2, NU swept the second day of the tournament, defeating UIC and host DePaul, 3-0. The 'Cats had three players selected to the All-Tournament Team including senior Alana Walker, first-year Deisree Becker and first-year Temi Thomas-Ailara who was also voted tournament MVP.
The 'Cats look to kick off the Big Ten slate with back-to-back games against Iowa and #3 Nebraska at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Live stats and live stream are available for both games.

After last weekend's games were canceled due to inclement weather, Northwestern open its fall schedule with a Saturday matinee vs. Loyola (Chi.) followed by a doubleheader against Bradley on Sunday, Sept. 29. Admission is free to every fall ball game for all attending fans, as is parking on Sundays at the Ryan Field East lot.
Among the notable returners for Big Ten Coach of the Year Kate Drohan's squad are catcher Jordyn Rudd, whom led NU in batting average last year (.328), infielder and home run leader from last season Rachel Lewis (14) and All-American pitcher Danielle Williams. Williams was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and earned All-Big Ten First-Team and All-Freshman Team honors as well. In 230 innings last season, Williams had a lockdown 1.55 ERA that led to a 31-8 record in the circle. Additionally, the Wildcats will welcome in seven first-year newcomers who made up the 21st-ranked recruiting class in the country.

The Northwestern women's cross country team is back in action after a week off of preparation for two meets on Saturday, including the B1G Preview in Columbus, OH, The Wildcats welcomed seven newcomers to the squad and are led by four seniors including top-runner, Kelly O'Brien. "We are concentrating on building a foundation to support success in the championship season," said Head Coach Jill Miller.

After pair of tournaments on the road in the first week of the season, the Northwestern women's golf program will host its annual Windy City Collegiate Classic at the Glen View Club in Golf, Illinois, on Monday, September 30 and Tuesday, October 1. The 15-team field will include will include Arizona, Arizona State, Augusta State, Duke, Florida, Iowa State, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Purdue, South Carolina, USC, Vanderbilt and Virginia .
