Gazi Fires Low-Round in Augusta Haskins Award Invitational Finale

AUGUSTA, Ga. (April 5, 2026) – After three sub-par rounds at Forest Hills Golf Club, Northwestern men's golf wraps up the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational in twelfth place.
The Wildcats began the weekend with a 5-under-par 283, before following it up with a 3-under 285 in their second round. The 'Cats saved their best for last on Sunday, shooting an 8-under 280 in their final round. North Carolina claimed both titles, securing the team championship with a 54-hole score of 810 (270-276-264) while the Tar Heel's Sihan Sandhu claimed medalist honors in a playoff.
Daniel Svärd paced the 'Cats with three consecutive rounds under par. The senior opened play with a 3-under 69 before improving by one stroke with a 4-under 68 in his second round. Svärd concluded the event with a 2-under 70, finishing in a share of 14th at 9-under.
Finishing after Svärd was Mark Gazi, who tied his season-low score of 69 in his final round to place in a share of 50th at even par. Ethan Tseng joined Gazi in red figures in the final round, firing a 2-under 70 to place tied for 58th. Rowan Sullivan placed in 60th with a 2-under 70 in his first round while Monty Holcombe fired back-to-back rounds under par after a 79 in his opening round.
