Wildcats Conclude Season at NCAA Athens Regional

ATHENS, Ga. (May 20, 2026) – The Northwestern men's golf team concluded their season on Wednesday at the NCAA Athens Regional, placing in a share of eighth in the 13-team event. The 'Cats were led by seniors Ethan Tseng and Daniel Svärd, both of whom concluded their Northwestern careers with top-20 finishes.
The Wildcats opened the week with a 2-over-par combined score of 843, but rebounded for rounds of 7-under and 4-under over the next two days. Northwestern finished the week with a 54-hole score of 843 (286-277-280), tied with Harvard in eighth place.
Competing in his final event as a Wildcat, Ethan Tseng began the tournament by carding a 5-under 66 in his opening round, his lowest score of the season. Tseng came in at even-par or better in his remaining two rounds, finishing tied for tenth at 6-under for his best result on the campaign.
Joining Tseng in the top-25 was Daniel Svärd, who, like Tseng, came in at par or better across all three rounds. After opening his week with an even-par 71, Svärd posted matching 69s to close out the tournament tied for 19th at 4-under.
Rowan Sullivan joined the senior duo in red figures, finishing the tournament at 1-under-par for the week. Sullivan carded a 5-under 66 in his second round, matching his season-low score from the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational.
Jeremy Chen saved his best for last, firing a 1-under 70 in his final round, while Monty Holcombe carded an even-par 71 in his second round for his low score of the week.
