Wildcats Open Big Ten Play at Nittany Lions and Buckeyes

EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 20 Northwestern begins Big Ten play this weekend on the road, facing Penn State on Friday and No. 3 Ohio State on Sunday.
The 'Cats face the Nittany Lions at 3 p.m CT on Friday and the Buckeyes at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday.

The Wildcats enter conference play with an 11-5 record and are the third highest team in the latest ITA poll behind Ohio State and Michigan. Penn State is 7-7 while the Buckeyes are 15-2 with losses to TCU and Michigan.
Steven Forman, leading the Wildcats at No. 1 singles, has improved to No. 37 in the latest ITA Rankings. He is the highest ranked Wildcat in the ITA singles rankings since Strong Kirchheimer was No. 37 heading into the postseason in 2017.
The 'Cats defeated Penn State last season, 6-1, in Evanston with singles wins from Simen Bratholm and Presley Thieneman.
The Buckeyes defeated Northwestern twice last season, including in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals.
