ORLANDO, Fla. — Junior Greyson Casey and sophomore Carter Pate have been selected to participate in the American Collegiate Player Wildcard Playoffs for a chance to earn a wild card entry into the 2026 US Open, the USTA announced on Wednesday.
Casey and Pate are one of four doubles teams in the tournament, which will take place on June 17 and June 18 at the USTA National Campus' Collegiate Center in Orlando, Florida. All matches, which can be viewed on Cracked Racquets, are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. CT. The winner of the playoff event, which is in its second year, will earn entry into the US Open main draw.
The Northwestern duo had an unblemished 17-0 record together at the No. 1 doubles spot during the 2026 dual season. Together, they became the first Wildcat duo to go undefeated during a season, shattering the program's single-season record for win percentage by a doubles team, which was previously held by Todd Martin and Chris Gregersen's .929 win percentage in the 1988-89 season. Casey and Pate's 17 wins marked the most by a Northwestern duo since Strong Kirchheimer and Dominik Stary won 19 in the 2016-17 season. In the year-end ITA rankings, Casey and Pate were ranked as the No. 34 duo in the country after peaking as high as No. 18, becoming the highest-ranked Wildcat duo since Simen Bratholm and Nick Brookes climbed to No. 17 on April 21, 2021.
In the event, Casey and Pate are joined by Ohio State's Brandon Carpico and Nikita Filin, Stanford's Alex Chang and Alex Razeghi and Indiana's Michael Andre and Matteo Antonescu.
