EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern Wildcats are set to welcome the Ohio State Buckeyes to Welsh-Ryan Arena on Sunday night. The B1G matchup is set to tip-off at 5:30 p.m. and will be broadcasted on Big Ten Network. Fans can also tune in to WGN 720 AM.
Northwestern looks to bounce back after dropping a 77-66 decision to No. 17 Maryland. Northwestern had three players score in double figures: Pat Spencer (17), Miller Kopp (16) and Pete Nance (11). The Wildcats scored 40 points in the first half, the most Maryland had allowed in an opening period since early December 2019.
Last season, Northwestern and Ohio State each earned a victory at home against one another. NU topped the Buckeyes on Mar. 6, 2019, 68-50 in the new Welsh-Ryan Arena. Ohio State is currently 2-6 in conference play.
STORYLINES:
Pat Spencer: The graduate student posted a team-high 17 points in the Wildcats' matchup versus No. 17 Maryland. It was the fifth time this season Spencer has led NU in scoring, the most of any player on Northwestern's roster.
Miller Time: Sophomore Miller Kopp has scored in double figures eight straight games and a team-best 14 times total this season. He has scored 15-or-more in four consecutive contests, both are the longest streaks of his career.
More on Miller: Miller Kopp enters the weekend ranked third among league players with 17 3-point field goals in B1G Games.
