THE BROTHERS ARE GETTING IT DUNN: Redshirt first-year David Dunn and senior Jack Dunn are fourth and seventh in the Big Ten in batting average, respectively ... David is hitting .356, while Jack is hitting .343 ... NU, Michigan, and Illinois are the only teams with multiple players in the top-10.
SUCCESS ON THE BUMP: Sophomore southpaw Quinn Lavelle has made six starts, four of which have been quality starts ... Eight of his 16 total earned runs allowed this season came in one start at Kent State ... Not counting that effort, he would have a 2.37 ERA ... In half of his starts, he has allowed one or fewer runs ... He has allowed only one home run in 30.1 innings pitched and has indluced a team-best four double plays.
NOT DUNN YET: Senior infielder Jack Dunn has started every game since coming to Evanston, a 179-game streak ... He has reached base in 41 of his last 42 games, dating back to last season ... He has a five-game hitting streak ... He has a hit in 16 of 19 games this season ... His .460 on-base percentage is third-best in the Big Ten.
HANK THE TANK: Junior starter Hank Christie has been the most effective Wildcat this season at putting the ball in the zone ... Of the 468 pitches he has thrown this season, 307 have been called for strikes (65.6 percent).
MR. 305: In the career of junior infielder Alex Erro, he has only struck out 51 times in 505 at-bats (10.0 percent) ... He has a career on-base percentage of .342.
ROAD WARRIORS: NU played 15 of their first 16 games on the road.
THIS AND THAT: NU has swiped 29 bags, tied for the third-most in the Big Ten ... Northwestern's .971 fielding percentage (20 E/696 TC) is third-best in the Conference.
LATE AND CLOSE: Redshirt first-year David Dunn has five plate appearances in clutch settings this season (seventh inning or later, within one run), and has reached base four times in those scenarios, including three-straight times reaching base.
WHAT A REVELATION: Junior righty Nick Paciorek, after converting from a catcher, has been a tremendous contributor for the Wildcats ... He has three saves in nine appearances, totaling 10.1 IP ... He has a 34.7 percent strikeout rate, the best mark on the squad ... He has been hot as of late, as 17 of his last 31 outs have been recorded via the punchout ... Opposing batters are hitting .171 against Paciorek.

POP TIME: Rookie backstop Michael Trautwein has been effective behind the plate, as he has a 46.7 caught stealing percentage this season ... Trautwein retired all four would-be base stealers in the Purdue series ... Five of NU's six wins have come with Trautwein behind the plate.
THIS ONLY INTERESTS ME: In 70 at-bats (second-most on the team), Jack Dunn has only struck out looking once.
PATIENT AT THE PLATE: Five Wildcats — Jack Anderson, Willie Bourbon, Anthony Calarco, Alex Erro, and Charlie Maxwell — average seeing 4.0-plus pitchers per plate appearance ... Calarco's average of 4.6 pitches per plate appearance led all 'Cats.
