EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern plays its final contest of the regular season Sunday when it travels to Iowa. Tip time is set for 6:30 p.m.
Northwestern and Iowa have split their last 26 meetings dating back to the 2003-04 season. The Wildcats posted their largest margin of victory ever over Iowa in last year's lone meeting, winning 89-54 Jan. 15 in Evanston. NU dished out 29 assists led by 10 from Bryant McIntosh who added 20 points. Scottie Lindsey added a game-high 22 points.
Northwestern will be the No. 10 seed for the upcoming Big Ten tournament. Entering play Sunday, the Wildcats could face either Indiana or Penn State in the second round at 5:30 p.m. Central time Thursday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
NU is coming off a narrow 70-64 home loss to Wisconsin on Thursday. Seniors Scottie Lindsey and Bryant McIntosh led the 'Cats with 26 and 18 points, respectively.
Redshirt junior forward Vic Law enters Sunday's game with 992 points, eight shy of becoming the 36th Northwestern player to score 1,000 career points.
Dererk Pardon's 55 blocked shots are four shy of Alex Olah's single-season school record of 59 set in 2014-15. Pardon's .636 field goal percentage also currently ranks above the top NU single-season mark of .613 set by Evan Eschmeyer during the 1996-97 campaign.
