'Cats Dominate Chicago State, 88-46

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Vic Law, Dererk Pardon, and Miller Kopp combined for 47 points and Northwestern utilized a balanced scoring attack to defeat Chicago State, 88-46.
Northwestern improved to 8-3 with the win, while Chicago State moves to 3-10 overall.
Kopp's 17 points marked a career-high, and both Law and Pardon notched double-digit points for the 11th consecutive game.
The Wildcats tallied a season-high 33 field goals on 23 assists. In a complete team effort, every player recorded at least one assist, led by first-year Ryan Greer's career-high five dimes. The Atlanta native also matched a career-high with five points in the contest.
Accompanying Northwestern's offensive barrage was a smothering defensive effort. The Wildcats forced 18 Cougars turnovers and limited them to 31.3-percent shooting (15-of-48).
The 'Cats utilized a balanced scoring attack to build the lead in the first half, shooting 50.0% for the second consecutive game. Eight different players scored points in the half, led by Law's 12.
The #B1GCats fired on all cylinders offensively in the second half, opening on a 21-8 run. Barret Benson threw down a dunk to push the lead to 30 midway through the period. The junior big man finished with 9 points and 4 rebounds.
Northwestern finished with a 50.8% (33-65) shooting clip, and committed only eight turnovers, a season-low.
Aaron Falzon made his first appearance of the season in his return from a lower body injury. The redshirt junior finished with six points, including an exclamation-mark three with 1:06 to play. He has connected on a 101 triples in his career.
The Wildcats never trailed in the contest. With the win, NU improved to 13-0 all-time against Chicago State.
Chicago's Big Ten Team is back in action this Friday as it welcomes Oklahoma to Welsh-Ryan Arena for an 8 p.m. CT tip.
