TIME CHANGE: Due to inclement weather, today's game has been moved to 1 p.m. CT.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Northwestern scored three unanswered goals en route to a 3-1 victory over Ohio State Saturday in the 2018 Big Ten Men's Soccer Tournament.
Northwestern (6-8-5) advances to take on No. 1 seed Indiana on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m. CT. The action will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
"In a year where our younger players played many of the minutes, it was great to have so many upperclassmen play so well today," said head coach Tim Lenahan. "We responded quickly to being down and then Sean Lynch, Ty Seager, Matt Moderwell, Camden Buescher all made plays to get a great result. Our guys coming off the bench today were terrific. Quick turnaround tomorrow to play the top seed and home team Indiana, but hey "Why Not Us!"
Ohio State got on the board in the 17th minute when Jake Scheper scored his second goal of the campaign. The Wildcats answered the bell minutes later when Jose Del Valle and Tommy Katsiyiannis connected to get the ball to Sean Lynch for the equalizer. The goal was Lynch's first of the season.
The contest remained tied at 1-1 until the 78th minute when Camden Buescher finished off a scramble in the box to the left post. Buescher notched his team-leading seventh goal of the season and fifth game-winning goal of his career. Buescher's goal was set up by a great run and pass from Ty Seager.
Northwestern sealed the win in the 88th minute when Matt Moderwell scored his fourth goal of the season. Miha Miskovic and Ty Seager were each credited with assists on the breakaway goal.
Miskovic made four saves in the effort.
Northwestern finished with 11 shots, six of which were on net and tallied 12 corner kicks compared to OSU's 1.
