EVANSTON, Ill. — Conference bragging rights are on the line when Northwestern travels to Georgia Tech on Monday to compete in the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Tip time is set for 6 p.m. CT at McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta.

Northwestern has an 8-10 record in the Challenge, including posting a 65-58 home win over Wake Forest last season.

NU (4-2) is coming off an 81-50 home win over Sacred Heart on Friday. Scottie Lindsey led four NU players in double figures with 19 points. He ranks fifth in the Big Ten with an average of 17.8 points per game, having scored in double figures in each of the team's first six games this season.

The Wildcats forced 23 Sacred Heart turnovers in Friday's win. It the most by a Northwestern opponent in Chris Collins' five seasons as head coach and the most since North Florida also had 23 on Dec. 16, 2009. The Pioneers' point total is the lowest by an NU foe since New Orleans scored 49 on Dec. 11, 2016.

Senior guard Bryant McIntosh has hit on each of his 19 free throw attempts this season. As a team, Northwestern leads the Big Ten with a .761 free throw percentage.

Northwestern leads its all-time series with Georgia Tech, 2-1, with all three meetings coming as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. NU won the lone previous matchup in Atlanta, 76-60, Nov. 29, 2011.

Georgia Tech assistant coach Tavaras Hardy was a three-time team MVP as player at NU from 1999-2002, posting 1,122 career points (28th in school history). He was later an assistant coach at NU for seven seasons from 2007-13, including serving as associate head coach the last two seasons.

The Yellow Jackets (3-1) are coming off a 63-49 home win over North Texas on Friday. Freshman guards Jose Alvarado and Curtis Haywood led Georgia Tech with 19 and 15 points, respectively. Senior center Ben Lammers leads the team with averages of 17.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.8 blocked shots per game while shooting 64.4 percent from the field. Georgia Tech posted a 21-16 record a year ago, falling to TCU in the NIT championship game.
