EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern opens a busy stretch of four games in seven days on Monday as it hosts Saint Peter's Monday at Allstate Arena. Tip time is set for 7 p.m.
Tickets are available at NUsports.com, by calling 888-GO-PURPLE or at the Allstate Arena Ticket Office.
The contest is being played as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. Both teams will travel to Uncasville, Connecticut, for a pair of games this weekend. NU also will host Creighton on Wednesday.
The Wildcats are coming off a 79-75 win over visiting Loyola (Md.) in their season-opener last Friday. Scottie Lindsey led NU with 26 points and a career-high 9 rebounds. Bryant McIntosh contributed 16 points and 7 assists.
NU recorded 12 blocked shots in last Friday's contest. The total ranks as a tie for the second-best single-game mark in school history. The school record is 15 achieved Jan. 12, 2017 at Rutgers.
Northwestern won the only previous meeting with Saint Peter's, 83-56, Dec. 13, 2000 in Evanston.
Like Northwestern head coach Chris Collins, Saint Peter's coach John Dunne served as an assistant coach at Seton Hall. Collins was there for two seasons from 1998-2000, while Dunne was at Seton Hall from 2001-06.
Scouting Saint Peter's
The Peacocks opened their season Saturday by suffering a 61-40 loss at La Salle. Cameron Jones scored a team-high nine points off the bench on a trio of 3-pointers for Saint Peter's which shot just 30.6 percent from the field. The Peacocks are coming off a 23-13 season that saw them win the CIT. Graduate guard Nick Griffin was named to the Preseason All-MAAC third team while the team was picked to finish eighth in the league.
