Northwestern to Host UIC in Home Opener

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern baseball opens its 2026 home slate on Tuesday when it hosts UIC at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park at 3 p.m. CT on B1G+. Admission for Tuesday's game is free to all fans.
The Wildcats (6-7) have won six of their last seven home openers, dating back to 2018. The Wildcats are 5-0 against non-conference foes in home openers over that span.
The 'Cats picked up a 9-6 win over Omaha over the weekend at the Cambria Classic, falling 5-4 to South Dakota State and 10-5 to UNLV at U.S. Bank Stadium.
OF Jack Lausch paced all Wildcats at the plate in Minneapolis, going 5-for-10 with a home run, two doubles, a triple, three RBI and five runs on the weekend.
Northwestern took two of three meetings against the Flames last season, including a 7-6 victory on INF Jacob Hand's walk-off home run on April 22 to secure the season series. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 71-33-1.
UIC (4-10) ranks second in the Missouri Valley Conference with a .977 fielding percentage. INF/RHP Jake Busson leads the MVC and ranks 80th nationally with five home runs on the season.
Northwestern will open Big Ten play this weekend, hosting No. 25 USC for a three-game series. First pitch for Friday's series opener is set for 3 p.m. CT on B1G+.
