EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern baseball plays its second ranked opponent in as many weeks when it travels to No. 21 Oregon for a three-game series at PK Park.

Friday's series opener is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CT, Saturday's game is slated for 4:05 p.m. CT and Sunday's series finale is set for 2:05 p.m. CT. All three games can be streamed on B1G+. Last weekend, Northwestern (7-9-1, 1-2 Big Ten) handed then-undefeated No. 25 USC its first loss of the season, walking off the Trojans, 2-1 in the series finale on an RBI single by OF Logan de Groot. The Coto de Caza, Calif., native was disciplined at the dish in the series, posting a .667 on-base percentage and a .400 batting average on the weekend.

In Saturday's doubleheader against USC, Wildcat pitching allowed just three runs on seven hits, striking out 12 Trojans over 18.0 innings pitched.

OF Jackson Freeman leads all 'Cats in batting average (.371), on-base percentage (.421), slugging percentage (.571), hits (26), total bases (40) and multi-hit games (7). Freeman has recorded a pair of 4-hit games this season, the most hits in a single-game by a Wildcat in 2026.

OF Jack Lausch leads Northwestern with four home runs and three stolen bases on the season. The Chicago native slugged a homer in Friday's game against USC, a solo shot off the batter's eye in center field. Lausch's long ball marked the first run allowed by USC LHP Mason Edwards all season.

Senior INF Owen McElfatrick ranks sixth in Northwestern's record book with 26 career HRs. In 2025, McElfatrick led all 'Cats in AVG (.303), hits (59), SBs (5), and multi-hit games (16), earning Third Team All-Big Ten and Second Team ABCA All-Region honors.

NU and Oregon are meeting on the diamond for the first time in program history this weekend.

No. 21 Oregon (17-3, 5-1 Big Ten) enters this weekend's series having won six in a row. Last weekend, the Ducks swept Indiana in Eugene, including a pair of one-run wins. Oregon leads the Big Ten and ranks 14th nationally with 37 home runs on the 2026 campaign. INF/OF Drew Smith leads the Big Ten and ranks 12th nationally in on-base percentage (.571) and ranks second in the conference and ninth nationally in batting average (.450).

Northwestern continues its seven-game west coast swing with a midweek at Portland on Tuesday, March 24, at 4 p.m. CT. The 'Cats then head to Seattle for a three-game weekend series at Washington.
