EVANSTON, Ill. — After hosting top teams in the 2026 ITA Division I Women's National Team Indoor Championship, Northwestern women's tennis continues nonconference play with a match against Fordham on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. CT inside Combe Tennis Center.

This past weekend, the Wildcats (5-4) fell in their matches against No. 4 Auburn, No. 8 Oklahoma State, and No. 15 Virginia, but took two singles matches. Sophomore Mika Dagan Fruchtman, playing at the No. 6 position, led 6-0, 1-0 when her OSU opponent retired. On the ensuing day, first-year Margot Phanthala, Northwestern's No. 1 singles player, defeated Virginia's Vivian Yang, the No. 34 player in the country, with a 6-2, 6-3 result.

Phanthala is ranked as the ITA's No. 39 singles player in the nation. Playing all of her matches at the No. 1 singles position, she leads the team with six singles victories and holds a 6-3 record on the season. Dagan Fruchtman and junior Neena Feldman crack the ITA's doubles rankings, slotting in as the No. 50 team in the country.
First-year Marelie Raath, primarily appearing at the No. 5 spot, and junior Autumn Rabjohns, who has played all but one match at the No. 3 position, both have a 5-2 record in singles. Their 71.4 winning percentages are the highest by a Wildcat (min. 3 matches played) this season.

Sunday morning's match will be Northwestern's first-ever meeting with the Rams (2-6). Fordham will face UIC Saturday evening before coming to Evanston.

Last weekend, the Rams defeated Temple, 4-3, before falling to Rutgers, 4-3. Fordham is headlined by Nevena Kolarevic, the 2024-25 Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Performer, and Julianne Nguyen, a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection last season.

The Wildcats will play their final nonconference match before starting Big Ten competition when they host DePaul on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 4 p.m. CT in Evanston.
