
Wildcats Hit West Coast for Pair of Road Matchups

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's soccer will continue its road swing to open Big Ten play this weekend with two road matchups in the Pacific Northwest.
The Wildcats will trek to Washington on Thursday at 9 p.m. CT, before making the trip to Oregon on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT. Both games will be streamed on B1G+.
LAST TIME OUT
In the Big Ten opener, Northwestern (4-1-3, 0-0-1 Big Ten) extended its unbeaten streak to five games with a 1-1 draw at No. 11 Iowa on Friday, Sept. 12. After a physical first half that saw few quality chances for either side, junior forward Megan Norkett made a deep run into the Hawkeye 18-yard box before finding Alex Fallon in a dangerous position. Fallon converted the cross to put Northwestern ahead 1-0 in the 56th minute. Iowa (5-1-2, 0-0-1 Big Ten) equalized in the 74th minute on a goal by junior defender Millie Greer to knot the game at once apiece and split the points.
NORTHWESTERN NOTABLES
Northwestern entered the rankings for the first time this season on Monday, appearing at No. 24 in this week's Top Drawer Soccer Top 25. The Wildcats are ranked No. 21 in the NCAA's RPI, one of five Big Ten teams in the Top 25.
Sophomore forward Kennedy Roesch leads the 'Cats with three goals through eight games in 2025. In her rookie campaign, the San Diego, Calif. native tallied six goals, the most by a Wildcat first-year since 2010 (Kate Allen, six). The 'Cats are 6-0-3 in games that Roesch tallies a goal.
SCOUTING WASHINGTON
Thursday's contest will mark the second meeting in program history between the 'Cats and Huskies. Then-No. 7 Washington won the only previous meeting 1-0 (OT) in Logan, UT on Sept. 3, 2001. Washington (4-1-3, 1-0-0 Big Ten) upset No. 15 USC 1-0 in its Big Ten opener in Los Angeles. Junior midfielder Jadyn Holdenried leads the Huskies offensively with four goals and two assists on the season. Sophomore goalkeeper Tanner Ijams has started every game this season for UW, allowing 0.51 goals per game and recording a .826 save percentage.
SCOUTING OREGON
Sunday's game will be the first meeting in program history between the 'Cats and Ducks. Oregon (2-5-1, 0-1-0 Big Ten) fell at No. 4 UCLA 2-0 in its first game of Big Ten play. Taylor Bryan paces the Ducks offensively with a pair of goals in 2025. In eight games this season, sixth year goalkeeper Caeley Goldstein has posted a 1.03 goals against average and a .758 save percentage.
