Wildcats Place Fourth in Season Opener at ANNIKA Intercollegiate

LAKE ELMO, Minn. (September 10, 2025) – Northwestern women's golf put together a final-round surge as it earned a share of fourth place to open the 2025-26 season at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Lake Elmo, Minn. Three Wildcats finished at par or better for the tournament, with four players placing inside the top-25.

The 'Cats saved their best for last, firing a six-under-par 282 in Wednesday's final round to card a score of 862 (287-293-282) and finish the 54-hole event at two-under-par. Wake Forest claimed the team title at eight-under-par with an 856 (294-281-281), while the Demon Deacons' Chloe Kovelesky shared medalist honors with South Carolina's Eila Galitsky.
 
First-year Arianna Lau paced the Wildcats in her collegiate debut, finishing the event as part of a tie for fifth place at four-under-par with a score of 212 (71-70-71). Lau came in under par in all three rounds, highlighted by a two-under 70 in Tuesday's second round.
 
Ashley Yun climbed into a tie for 10th, tying her career low with a final-round four-under-par 68. Yun carded six birdies on the day en route to finishing her week at one-under-par with a 215 (73-74-68). Yun wasn't the only player to tie a career low, as Dianna Lee utilized four straight birdies in her final round to climb 11 spots on the leaderboard with a final-round five-under 67 to finish in 15th with an even-par 216 (75-74-67).
 
Megan Meng came in with her highest career finish, placing 23rd with a score of 219 (68-75-76). Meng set a new 18-hole career low on Monday, firing the only bogey-free round of the day with a four-under-par 68.
 
Rounding out the Wildcat lineup was Hsin Tai Lin, who finished the event at 233 (80-77-76).
