Adam Finishes Fifth at NCAA Tallahassee Regional as Wildcats Close Their Season

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 14, 2025) – For the second consecutive year, senior Cameron Adam led the 'Cats at the NCAA Championships – this year securing a fifth place finish – as the Northwestern University Men's Golf team wrapped up its 2024-25 season at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional today in Tallahassee, Fla.
The Wildcats posted a final-round 290 to end play at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club in 10th place with a 54-hole team score of 874 (290-294-290). Host school No. 11 Florida State (274-281-280=835) was dominant, topping No. 3 Ole Miss (282-287-275=844) by nine strokes to finish atop the team race, while Seminole junior Luke Clanton claimed the individual title with a 15-under-par 201 (66-66-69).
Adam secured his fourth Top 5 finish of the season, ending the competition with an eight-under-par 208 (71-69-68) that was bolstered by a bogey-free four-under-par 68 in today's final round. The Edinburgh, Scotland product birdied four holes down the stretch to come within one stroke of advancing as an individual golfer to the NCAA Championship Finals. He narrowly missed a 30-foot birdie putt on the final hole that would have forced a playoff to advance to the NCAA Finals. Adam closed the year by firing 18 rounds at par or better, up from 15 last season, and recorded 11 rounds in the 60s, up from seven in 2023-24.
Junior Daniel Svärd and sophomore Niall Shiels-Donegan both finished with a seven-over 223, tied for 45th. Svärd and Adam led the Wildcats this season with 11 rounds in the 60s. Shiels-Donegan had the low round for the 'Cats this season, a 64 in his final round at The Prestige at PGA West. Ethan Tseng finished tied for 54th with a 10-over 226. First-year Mark Gazi played the first and third rounds and sophomore Archie Finnie played the second round in the fifth spot for the Wildcats.
