‘Cats Head Back On The Road Friday At No. 13 Michigan

Northwestern seeks first road win over Wolverines since 2013
EVANSTON, Ill. (October 23, 2025) – Unbeaten across its last three games, Northwestern men's soccer (6-4-3, 1-3-2 B1G) is set for its penultimate road trip of the 2025 season on Friday evening at No. 13 Michigan. Kickoff from the U-M Soccer Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich. is set for 6 p.m. CT.
LAST TIME OUT
In a matchup featuring four second-half goals, Northwestern and Penn State played to a 2-2 draw this past Friday at Jeffrey Field in University Park, Pa.
Baraka Tarleton netted his first Northwestern goal to open the scoring in the 62nd minute, before Jayvin Van Deventer scored his first goal of 2025 with just under five minutes remaining.
SCOUTING MICHIGAN
Fresh off a 3-0 rout of UCLA last Friday, Michigan rolls into Friday's matchup with Northwestern at 8-2-3 overall and 4-2-1 in Big Ten Conference action. Fueled by its win over the Bruins, the Wolverines ascended to No. 13 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll.
Head coach Chaka Daley's team features a wealth of scoring options, with five different players having scored three-plus goals this season. Michael Ramirez and Quin Rogers have led the line for Daley this season, each depositing home five goals. Ramirez, the team's overall points leader (5 goals, 3 assists) scored a pair of first-half goals against UCLA, while Rogers put an exclamation point on the night with a 72nd-minute strike from the penalty spot.
Grayson Elmquist has added four goals, while Shuma Sasaki and Kyle Pierson each boast three tallies. Nicholas Cassiday, Dylan Davis, and Matthew Fisher have all proven more than capable distributors, with all three members of the trio having dished out four assists to share the team lead in the category.
Isaiah Goldson has been a mainstay in goal for Michigan this season, playing in every minute of all 13 games. Goldson resides second amongst Big Ten Conference netminders in both goals against average (0.85) and shutouts (6), with the latter total ranking 23rd nationally.

Behind a goal in the 23rd minute from Tyler Glassberg, the 'Cats snapped an eight-match skid to the Wolverines last season, picking up a 1-0 win on October 18, 2024 at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium.
Northwestern will be in search of its first road win over Michigan since a 2-0 blanking of the Wolverines on September 28, 2013.
