
Wildcats Cap Perfect 8-0 Home Season with 19-10 Victory Over Ohio State

EVANSTON, Ill. – On Saturday afternoon, No. 1 Northwestern (12-2, 4-1 B1G) beat Ohio State (7-7, 1-4 B1G) 19-10 in the final home game of the regular season. The Big Ten matchup was played outdoors on the lakefront at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium. This is the Wildcats' 41st consecutive home victory, the longest active streak in the country.
The Wildcats were led by Dylan Amonte (career-high 6 goals on 10 shots), Madison Taylor (5 goals, 1 assist on team-leading 11 shots), Erin Coykendall (2 goals, 6 assists) and Izzy Scane (2 goals, 3 assists). Samantha Smith (7) led the team in draw controls.

How It Happened
The Wildcats didn't waste any time with Lindsey Frank scoring less than a minute into the game. NU dominated the first frame, leading 8-2 after one, led by Dylan Amonte's hat trick. Each team scored three times in the second quarter, with the Wildcats leading at half, 11-5. Ohio State outscored NU 4-2 in the third frame, receiving goals from four separate goalscorers. The third quarter ended with the 'Cats up, 13-9. Northwestern pulled away in the fourth quarter, scoring the first five goals of the final frame. NU outshot their opponents 37-25 and won the draw control battle 17-15.
Game Notes
- Scane became the all-time leading scorer in Big Ten history and moved into third place in NCAA all-time points list.
- Amonte scored a career-high six goals
- For the first time this season, Amonte had a hat trick in the first quarter.
- Coykendall tied her season-high with six assists (vs. Central Michigan)
- This was the 24th all-time meeting between these programs. Northwestern now holds a 21-3 record vs. Ohio State.
