Wildcats Fall in Straight Sets at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana Hoosiers 3-0 (22-25, 21-25, 20-25) came out on top of a three-set sweep on Sunday, downing the visiting Wildcats at Wilkinson Hall.

The loss dropped Northwestern's record to 4-14 overall and 2-8 in Big Ten play.

Buse Hazan finished with 12 kills on the day to lead the Wildcats offense for a second straight match. Four players logged at least three blocks, while Drew Wright finished with 10 digs to pace the team defensively.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Wildcats came up short in a back-and-forth first set, losing 25-22 in a frame that featured one lead change and was tied nine times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way.

SET 2 | A 25-21 set-two loss put Northwestern behind two sets to none in the match. The set was similar to the first, featuring three lead changes and remaining within four points the entire time.

SET 3 | Indiana completed the sweep with a set-three win. The Wildcats came up short by the score of 25-20. Northwestern trailed by as many as seven points as Indiana grabbed the advantage for good at 4-3 in a set that was knotted up three times before the Hoosiers took over the lead.

Game Notes

» Buse Hazan led the attack with 12 kills, giving her 10+ in back-to-back matches for the first time since Oct. 4 and 6 against Purdue and Illinois. The junior has 11 double-digit performances this season in 15 matches played.
» Northwestern got a team-high 10 digs from Drew Wright - her third straight match with double digits in that category.
» Alexa Rousseau's team-high 29 assists were her most in a match since Aug. 31, when she logged a season-high 46 against Pacific. The total is her highest in a conference match since Nov. 24, 2023, against Iowa.
