Women's Basketball To Take on Wisconsin on the Road

MADISON, Wis. – The 'Cats are back on the road on Wednesday as they prepare to face off with the Wisconsin Badgers at the Kohl Center in Madison. Action between the two teams is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. on B1G+.
Northwestern (6-9, 1-3 B1G) is looking to bounce back after dropping both of their last two to Penn State and No. 20 Ohio State. The Wildcats went .500 in the month of December, including a 77-70 victory over conference foe Rutgers, and will look to get back on track against an 8-6 Wisconsin squad.
Despite the losses, the 'Cats outrebounded their opponents in both of their most recent contests. They held the Buckeyes to just 27 boards on Friday, the fewest opponent rebounds they've allowed all season. On their side, Northwestern was led by Paige Mott, who brought down six rebounds.
For the third straight game, Caileigh Walsh was Northwestern's leading scorer, with 14. At 13.0 points per game, the junior is now the team's leading scorer, and is set to finish with nearly 400 points this season.
Like the 'Cats, the Badgers have opened their Big Ten season with a 1-3 record, with losses to then-No. 4 Iowa, Purdue and Nebraska and - most recently - a 67-61 victory over Illinois on the road. The Wildcats have won seven of their last eight against Wisconsin, including last year's matchup in Madison.
Following their trip north, the 'Cats will be back at Welsh-Ryan Arena this Sunday to host Illinois on Alumni Day. The Wildcats and the Illini are set to tip off at 2:00 p.m. on B1G+.
