EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 21 Northwestern welcomes No. 20 Michigan State in a marquee matchup at Martin Stadium. Kickoff for the Top 25 clash is set for 7 p.m. CT at Martin Stadium.
Last time out, Northwestern suffered its first setback of the season in a 2-1 loss at Penn State. Justin Weiss tallied his seventh goal of the season to give NU a 1-0 lead before Penn State struck twice in the second half to hand the Wildcats their first loss of the 2023 campaign.
Northwestern has its best record through 13 games since 2008, when it started 11-0-2.
Northwestern earned a No. 21 ranking in the October 17th United Soccer Coaches Poll, its sixth straight week appearing in the Poll.
Northwestern's 1.92 goals per game ranks first in the Big Ten and 30th nationally.

The Syosset, N.Y. native ranks 17th nationally in assists (7), 19th nationally in points (21), and 40th nationally in goals (7). Friday's meeting will be the 49th all-time meeting between Northwestern and Michigan State. Michigan State lead the all-time series 33-10-5. Northwestern rallied from behind to down MSU 2-1 and punch its ticket to the Big Ten Tournament last season in East Lansing.
MSU enters Friday's game as one of four remaining unbeatens in the country, standing at 6-0-6 and 2-0-4 in Big Ten play. Sean Kerrigan and Jonathan Stout lead the Spartans offensively with four goals apiece. Zac Kelley handles goalkeeping duties, posting a Big Ten-leading .839 save percentage.
