No. 12 Northwestern Travels to Penn State for Friday Night Tilt

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern men's soccer will travel to Happy Valley to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions on Friday night. Kickoff from Jeffrey Field is set for 6 p.m. CT on B1G+.
Last time out, the 'Cats earned their fifth clean sheet of the season with a 2-0 win over Rutgers at Martin Stadium. After 78 scoreless minutes, Ugo Achara Jr. broke through to give NU a 1-0 lead. Eight minutes later, Jayvin Van Deventer doubled the Wildcat lead with a spectacular individual effort to put the game on ice.
The Wildcats are unbeaten through 12 games for the first time since 2008, when they started 10-0-2.
Northwestern earned a No. 12 ranking in the October 10th United Soccer Coaches Poll for the second straight week, its highest ranking since October 1, 2013 (No. 5).
Northwestern's 2.00 goals per game ranks first in the Big Ten and 27th nationally.
Justin Weiss leads the Big Ten in Goals (6), Assists (7), and Points (19). The Syosset, N.Y. native ranks 17th nationally in Points (19), 9th nationally in assists (7).
Collin McCamy ranks second in the Big Ten, trailing only Weiss, with four assists.
Nigel Prince has logged 1074 of 1080 possible minutes this season.
Sunday's meeting will be the 43rd all-time meeting between Northwestern and Penn State. Penn State lead the all-time series 28-8-6. The two sides shared points in a 2-2 draw last season in Evanston.
Penn State enters Friday's contest at 6-2-3 overall and 2-1-1 in Big Ten play. Last time out, the Nittany Lions fell 2-1 to Indiana at home. Peter Mangione paces PSU offensively, with five goals and an assist. Kris Shakes has started all 11 games in goal for the Nittany Lions, allowing 0.73 goals per game and posting a .818 save percentage.
