EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 9 Northwestern continues its homestand and puts its 12-game winning streak on the line this weekend as the Wildcats welcome No. 23 Michigan to Sharon J. Drysdale Field for a pivotal Big Ten series.

Northwestern currently sits at 22-4 on the season, marking its best start to a season in the Drohan era. The 'Cats have swept each of their last three weekends and are riding a 12-game winning streak, their longest since 2019 when they won 20-straight games and opened their conference slate 21-0.

This marks the first time Michigan has traveled to Evanston to face the Wildcats since 2011. Last year, the Wolverines took three of four games played in Ann Arbor.

A pair of Wildcats took home Big Ten weekly honors following last weekend's three-game sweep over Michigan State to open the Big Ten season, Rachel Lewis won her second Big Ten Player of the Week honors of the week while Danielle Williams was named the Big Ten Pitcher of the Week for the second-straight week and third time this season.

Lewis powered the Wildcat offense with eight RBI, a 1.111 slugging percentage, two stolen bases and two home runs that included a "walk-off" grand slam to secure a 9-1 run-rule in the sixth inning of the series finale. The fifth-year senior currently leads the team with 10 home runs, 31 runs scored, a .785 slugging percentage and a .475 on-base percentage.

Williams finished the month of March with a perfect 6-0 record to go along with a 0.95 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 37.2 innings pitched. The left-handed Wildcat ace allowed just three hits in 51 batters faced last weekend, and carries a streak of 26.0 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run into this weekend's series.

Friday and Saturday's game will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network and Sunday's game will be available to stream on B1G+.
