'Cats Prepare for Ryan Fieldhouse Doubleheader Weekend

EVANSTON, Ill. – After an undefeated first week, No. 3 Northwestern Women's Lacrosse Team is back in action with games against No. 7 Notre Dame and ASU in the Ryan Fieldhouse this weekend. The Wildcats face off against the Fighting Irish on Friday at 7 p.m. and finish out the weekend against ASU at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
The 'Cats won their first two games of the season last weekend. In their home opener, they dominated Detroit Mercy with a 30-3 win. Sixteen individual Wildcats scored, with sophomore midfielder Izzy Scane leading the team with four goals in four shots.
After their forceful win at home, the 'Cats travelled to Durham, N.C. to take on No. 20 Duke. Northwestern set the tone with an 8-0 run in the first 12 minutes and came away with a 24-20 win to bump their season record to 2-0. Senior Lindsey McKone and Izzy Scane led the team with five goals apiece, McKone's new career high for goals in a single game.
With six goals through two games, McKone earned the first Big Ten Weekly honor of the season and her first honor with after earning Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.
Following this weekend's matchups, Chicago's Big Ten Team is set to continue their run at home as they host Syracuse and Stanford next Saturday and Sunday.
