
‘Cats Go for Fourth Straight Win as They Host No. 20 Oklahoma State

Evanston, Ill. – Northwestern will host No. 20 Oklahoma State for a third-straight home dual match at the Combe Tennis Center on Thursday, February 7 at 6 p.m.
The 'Cats have won three dual matches in a row, including a double-header last weekend in their home openers against Duke and Chicago State.
Northwestern fought back for a 4-3 win against the Blue Devils before dominating Chicago State, 4-0, in the second match.
First year Trice Pickens picked up wins in both of his singles matches, improving his season record to 5-1. He won 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 6 against Duke to tie the match at three points apiece. He dominated, 6-1, 6-1, in straight sets at No. 5 versus Chicago State.
Sophomore Antonioni Fasano clinched the winning point for Northwestern against Duke, winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
The Wildcats won the crucial doubles point in both matches. Juniors Dominik Stary and Chris Ephron teamed up for back-to-back victories at No. 2. They won their match against Duke, 7-6, while claiming a 6-1 win against Chicago State. Sophomore Nick Brookes and first year Simen Bratholm's win at No. 1 helped the 'Cats secure the doubles point against Duke, while it was Fasano and Picken's win at No. 3 that clinched the doubles point against Chicago State.
Oklahoma State enters the match with a 4-3 record and is coming off a 4-0 defeat to No. 1 Wake Forest. The last time these two teams faced off, the 'Cats fell at No. 9 Oklahoma State, 4-2, last season.
