
Wildcats Prepare for Sunday Doubleheader

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern (6-5, 1-0 Big Ten) will return to Combe Tennis Center on Sunday to host Ball State and UIC in a Sunday doubleheader. The matches are set for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. CT respectively.
The 'Cats are coming off a three-match winning streak, including notching their first Big Ten win of the season against Purdue, 5-2. Against the Boilermakers, the Wildcats had a strong doubles performance with wins from No. 1 team Simen Bratholm/Nick Brookes [6-1] and No. 3 team Dominik Stary/Chris Ephron [6-4]. In singles, the 'Cats clinched the win with points from the No. 1, 3, 5 and 6 positions.
In their second match of the day on Sunday, Northwestern traveled to Homewood, Ill. to take on Chicago State. The 'Cats dominated singles play, winning all six of their matches and claimed all doubles points to earn a 4-0 victory.
UIC enters this weekend's matchup on an 0-5 run, including a 3-4 loss to Chicago State. Last season, the 'Cats bested the Flames 4-0.
Ball State is 1-3 overall and will head to Ohio to face Wright State University on Saturday before traveling to Evanston.
