EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 23 Northwestern squares off with yet another ranked opponent Sunday when it hosts Texas at 11 a.m. at Combe Tennis Center.

Early-arriving fans can register to win a 50" television with the winner selected once the match is decided.

Northwestern has a 2-0 home record so far this season, defeating Ball State, 6-1, and Saint Louis, 7-0, Jan. 20. Sunday's match is the Wildcats' third straight against a ranked opponent.

NU nearly earned a bid to the ITA National Indoor Team Championships last weekend. The fourth-seeded 'Cats upset host and 21st-ranked Kentucky, 4-0, on Friday before narrowly falling to No. 16 UCLA, 4-3, on Saturday.

Redshirt senior Maddie Lipp was recognized as the Big Ten Athlete of the Week for her efforts in the matches against Kentucky and UCLA. She teamed with Erin Larner to earn the nation's fourth-ranked doubles team a win over the seventh-ranked team from UCLA. Lipp also posted a pair of straight-sets singles wins over the weekend, including defeating No. 100 Terri Fleming of UCLA. The honor is Lipp's fourth of her career.

Texas was upset, 4-2, in a match at Illinois Friday evening. The Longhorns advanced to the ITA National Indoor Team Championship by defeating Mississippi State, 4-1, and Cal, 4-3 in Berkeley, California.

Northwestern holds an 11-7 lead in the all-time series with Texas. The schools last met March 28, 2016 in Austin with the Longhorns posting a 5-2 victory. NU posted a 6-1 win in the last meeting between the schools in Evanston March 1, 2015.
