EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern picked up its first victory at the new Welsh-Ryan Arena on Saturday night with a four-set triumph over Rutgers.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Wednesday at home to take on No. 4 Illinois. Action will start at 7 p.m.

TEAM NOTES:

Northwestern is 6-0 against Rutgers all-time.
Tonight's win against the Scarlet Knights gives the 'Cats a 4-2 record in their last six games.
The Wildcats had three players finish with double-digit kills and four players finish with double-digit digs.

Sophomore Alana Walker ended the night with a match-high eight blocks … Walker also recorded eight kills on the night.

First-year Abryanna Cannon recorded her second double-double of the season with 13 kills and 10 digs.
First-year Kiara McNulty notched a double-double with 47 assists and 11 digs … Marks her seventh double-double this season and her third in the last four matches.
Sophomore Lexi Pitsas finished with a season-high three aces.
Junior Sarah Johnson finished with 10 digs, tied for her second-most in a Big Ten match this season.

MATCH NOTES:

S1 | The 'Cats ended the set with five players having multiple kills, led by Cannon's four ... Northwestern took the set, 25-20.
S2 | Northwestern out-hit Rutgers .235 to .111 for the set. The 'Cats held off the Scarlet Knights to win the set, 25-17.
S3 | The Wildcats and Rutgers battled throughout the set, but Rutgers closed on a 4-0 run.
S4| Northwestern dominated Rutgers, hitting .281 while holding the Scarlet Knights to a -.147 clip en route to a 25-14 victory to close out the match.
