EVANSTON, Ill. – The Northwestern women's and men's swimming and diving teams head to Minneapolis, Minn. on Friday for the Big Ten Triple Duals against Minnesota and Purdue in the Wildcats' final meet before the Big Ten Championships. The two-day meet is set to begin at 6 p.m. CT on Friday and noon CT on Saturday.

Last Time Out

The Wildcat women are coming off a 163.5-134.5 senior-day victory against the Iowa Hawkeyes last Saturday. The 'Cats finished with 11 wins and 14 additional top-3 finishes.

The team of first years Calypso Sheridan, Sophie Angus, Ilektra Lebl and senior Mary Warren started the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay. Sheridan went on to win the 100 back, 200 back and 200 IM, marking the second straight meet in which she won all three of her individual events. Angus and Lebl finished second and third, respectively, behind Sheridan in the 200 IM.

Angus went on to claim the top spot in the 100 and 200 breast, Lebl finished first in the 200 fly, and Warren won the 50 free for the seventh time this season. Senior Sydney Modeas, first year Rachel Tseng and sophomore Irune Andres finished 1-2-3, respectively, in the 1000 free. Olivia Rosendahl continued her dominant season on the boards, sweeping the 1-meter and 3-meter events.

The men's team fell to the Hawkeyes, but junior Will Hofstadter and first year DJ Hwang continued to impress. Hofstadter dominated the competition in the 100 and 200 breast, winning both by over a second. Hwang claimed the top spot in the 1000 free, finishing more than ten seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. He also took second in the 500 free.

Junior Tyler Lis came in second in the 200 IM while junior Justin Hanson took third. Hanson also had a third-place finish in the 200 fly, and senior Almog Olshtein finished second in the 50 free. Ben Magliato recorded his best scores of the season in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, finishing third and fourth, respectively.

The Match Up

The Wildcats are set to face a Minnesota program that is ranked on both the men's and women's side. The No. 18 Minnesota women [4-3] and No. 24 Minnesota men [4-3] are both coming off big wins over Denver. The women won 196-104, while the men came out on top by a score of 195-105. Neither team has lost since falling to the No. 3 Michigan women and No. 7 Michigan men on Nov. 4.

The 'Cats will also face a Purdue program that is coming off a dual-meet loss to Indiana. The Boilermaker women [4-2], who are receiving votes in the latest rankings, fell to No. 7 Indiana 176-123 last weekend. The men [4-3] fell to the No. 3 Indiana men 206-92.

Northwestern's men's and women's teams fell to both Minnesota and Purdue at last year's Big Ten Triple Duals.
