EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern will play its final non-conference home game of the 2017 season on Tuesday, April 18, when Milwaukee visits Miller Park for a 3:30 p.m. CT contest.

Northwestern (13-22) has won six of its last 10 games, including five of its last six at the friendly confines of Miller Park. After winning back-to-back series to open the month of April, Northwesten dropped two of three to Illinois in Champaign.

Josh Davis (2-1, 3.81 ERA) will make his sixth start of the season on Tuesday. Davis has tossed 28.1 innings this season and owns a 16:8 strikeout-to-walk ratio. The right-hander matched a career-long 6.0 innings pitched last time out (April 11) in the Wildcats' 11-4 win over Western Michigan. Davis fanned a career high five batters in the outing and only allowed three runs on six hits to earn the victory.

Senior Joe Hoscheit is the reigning Big Ten Player of the Week. Hoscheit batted .588 with 10 hits, nine RBI and five runs scored in four games last week to earn the honor. Five of his 10 hits went for extra bases, including three doubles and two home runs. His home run on Saturday, April 15, at Illinois was a grand slam that helped NU to an 11-4 win. He was the first Northwestern student-athlete to earn the weekly baseball honor since Jake Straub in 2013.

Milwaukee (12-20) enters Tuesday's game fresh off a series win against Youngstown State (April 14-16). The Panthers have won four of their last five contest, which includes wins over mutual 2017 opponents Chicago State (15-1; April 11) and Bradley (13-4; April 9).

Daulton Varsho and Chris Kelly have led the team on the offensive end this season. Varsho is batting .375 in 32 games with 45 hits, including seven doubles, five triples and six home runs, while Kelly has accumulated 41 knocks to hit .363. Varsho also boasts a team-best 26 RBI this season.

The Panthers have a pitching staff ERA of 4.31 and opponents are hitting .251 against them this season.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams since April 21, 2015, when Northwestern came away with a 9-5 victory over the Panthers. Hoscheit went 2-for-3 in the effort with a pair of RBI.

Tuesday's game will be broadcasted on Studio N with Preston Michelson handling the play-by-play call and Kyle Kelley as the color commentator.
