
Wildcats Fall to Sixth-Ranked Yellow Jackets

ATLANTA – No. 47 Northwestern continued its stretch of competition against highly ranked opponents Wednesday, falling 7-0 at No. 6 Georgia Tech.
The match was the Wildcats' sixth already this season against teams ranked No. 11 or better and NU's fourth consecutive against a top-25 foe.
Northwestern picked up it lone victory of the day at No. 1 doubles where the 74th-ranked team of Maddie Lipp and Rheeya Doshi posted a convincing 6-2 win over Rasheeda McAdoo and Luca Fabian. However, the Yellow Jackets got 6-0 victory at No. 3 before getting a narrow 6-4 win at No. 2 to take the doubles point.
In singles action, Georgia Tech notched straight-sets wins at all six spots. Both Erin Larner at No. 1 (6-4, 6-4) and Lee Or at No. 3 (7-5, 6-4) put up strong fights against their ranked opponents.
Northwestern returns to action at 11 a.m. Saturday when it host No. 33 Maryland in Big Ten competition.
