
No. 7 Red Raiders Outlast No. 48 Wildcats 5-2

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Wildcats put up a good fight by winning the doubles point and pushing through 3 tie breaks in singles play. Still, they couldn't outshine #7 Texas Tech in the long run, falling 5-2.
Northwestern got on the board quick with a win in doubles. At No. 3 duo Brooke Rischbieth and Alex Chatt shut down Alex Valenstein and Alba Cortina-Pou 6-0. Following suit at No. 1, Maddie Lipp and Rheeya Doshi beat #24 Sabrina Federici and Sarah Dvorak 6-3.
After a pair of tough two-set matches at No. 6 and No. 3 in singles, the 'Cats attempted to answer back with a tie break win at No. 2. Maddie Lipp defeated #40 Felicity Maltby in two sets 6-2, 7-6 by topping her in the tie break 7-5. The Red Raiders came back strong, claiming the rest of the singles matches.
Next up for the 'Cats is a match at Georgia Tech on March 22nd.
