SUMMARY -
The Northwestern field hockey team dropped its fourth game of the season 2-0 to Villanova at Lakeside Field in Evanston, Ill. Nicole Smith (Warnbro, Western Australia/Como Senior) led the `Cats with three shots on goal as they totaled six to Villanova's nine. In goal Jessica Yates (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) upped her season saves total to 44 as she saved seven in the game.
For Villanova, the top two leading scorers each found a way into the net. With 15 minutes remaining in the first half, Stephanie Vrettos took an indirect corner assist from Sarah Burdette to put VU up 1-0. Both teams then stiffened there respective defenses and the game was a stalemate until 8:55 remaining in the game. That's when Villanova's leading scorer Nicole Dimaggio put the biscuit in the basket on a direct corner assist from Krissy Malchitsky. Villanova improved to 4-1 on the season.
