
Women's Golf Still 24th at NCAA Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern University women's golf team shot a 306, its best round through three days at the NCAA Championships in Sunriver, Ore. Unfortunately, the Wildcats could not make up any ground and remained in 24th place with one round left to play.
Northwestern has a three-round total of 936 (313-317-306) and is 72 over par as a team. The leader through three rounds is Arizona, which has put plenty of distance between itself and the rest of the field with a 285 Thursday and a 281 Friday. As a result, the Wildcats are just one over par (865) for the entire tournament, 28 strokes ahead of second-place Southern Cal.
Elizabeth Burden led Northwestern on Friday, shooting a 74 which is the best round shot by a Wildcat player yet at this tournament. As a results, she is now at 13-over-par 229 which puts her in a tie for 58th.
Emily Gilley and Karen England both shot 77 on Friday, while Kristen Beystehner recorded a 78 and Christie Hermes fired an 80.
Jenna Daniels and Julia Kraschinski, both of Arizona, are at the top of the individual leaderboard with three-round totals of 210. That is seven shots better than the rest of the field.
The NCAA Championship concludes Saturday on the Crossriver Club course in Sunriver.
