Taylor Perkins joined Northwestern Athletics as an Academic Advisor in January 2022. She works closely with student-athletes from football, men's basketball, tennis, and wrestling, as well as women’s fencing, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, and men’s and women’s swimming and diving. She holds weekly meetings with first-year student athletes to discuss their transition to college, explore learning strategies, and connect to meaningful resources on campus.
Prior to Northwestern, Perkins was at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) from June 2019 to December 2021, first serving as an academic mentor within the athletic department, before transitioning to the role of academic counselor. Perkins attended Northern Illinois University where she was a cross country and track and field student-athlete. She graduated in May 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Spanish. She obtained a master’s degree in Student Affairs from Iowa State University in May 2019.
