Ronnie Bouemboue begins his second season as an assistant coach with the Northwestern Univeristy men's soccer program in 2025. Bouemboue joined the 'Cats prior to the start of the 2024 campaign.
Prior to arriving in Evanston, Bouemboue served as an assistant coach at Northern Illinois. In two seasons with the Huskies, Bouemboue mentored a pair of all-league honorees as Adrian Corona and Adrian Lara each earned All-MAC recognition in 2022. In 2023, two more Huskies, Jakub Rojek and Luis Hernandez, earned Missouri Valley Conference All-Tournament Team honors. Over his time in DeKalb, 11 Huskies earned Academic All-MAC honors and two Huskies were named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team.
Previously, Bouemboue was the head coach at Eastern Illinois and helped the Panthers garner the Summit League Team Academic Award in 2020-21. He joined the Panthers from IUPUI, where he spent four seasons as an assistant coach (2016-19). During his time with the Jaguars, Bouemboue helped IUPUI reach the 2018 Horizon League Tournament, its first postseason appearance in five seasons. Bouemboue was named to the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 program in August 2017.
Bouemboue also spent two seasons (2015-16) as a volunteer assistant at his alma mater, North Carolina State, his second stint on the Wolfpack men's soccer staff. Bouemboue also served as the Director of Soccer Operations for the Wolfpack for three seasons (2010-12). During that time, he also worked as an assistant coach for the North Carolina Olympic Development Program and clubs in the Raleigh area.
Bouemboue spent two years as an assistant coach at Bradley (2013-14), helping the Braves win the 2013 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, securing an NCAA Tournament berth.
As a player, Bouemboue was a two-time All-ACC honoree at NC State (2008 and 2009) and the only three-time All-ACC Tournament selection (2006, '08 and '09) in program history. Bouemboue ranks in the top-15 in NC State history in career points and career assists and was invited to the 2010 Major League Soccer combine.
Bouemboue earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from NC State in 2008 and a master's in liberal arts from NC State in 2013. Bouemboue was a finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award and a two-time ACC Scholar Athlete.
