Philip Carpio plays an important leadership role on our INVEST NU Student-Athlete Development team serving as the Director of the King NU P.R.I.D.E. Student–Athlete Development program bringing a deep commitment to leadership growth, holistic support, and inclusive excellence. Philip earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa and completed his master’s degree at Arkansas State University, grounding his work in a strong foundation of student development and educational leadership.

Before stepping into his current role, Philip served as the Assistant Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the University of Washington. There, he oversaw student-athlete and staff education, coordinated affinity group programming, and led community and social impact initiatives across the department. His efforts helped strengthen belonging, expand access to identity-based support, and elevate cultural understanding throughout the athletics community.

During his time at Washington, Philip launched the department’s first-ever Women’s Leadership Luncheon and created Husky Heroes, a field day event for children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities, two initiatives that continue to advance empowerment, visibility, and community engagement.

Outside of work, Philip enjoys spending time outdoors. You can often find him hiking, paddle boarding, or taking long walks with his two dogs, Ollie and Cricket.
