Maryn Lowry begins her third season as an assistant coach with the Northwestern University cross country & track program in 2025-26.  Prior to her arrival in Evanston, Lowry spent two seasons on staff at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

"I am delighted to bring Maryn to Evanston as her skill set is the ideal complement to our coaching staff," Northwestern head cross country & track coach Jill Miller commented.  "She has proved herself as a diligent recruiter, takes the utmost care of her student-athletes, and brings a technical background that will undoubtedly help our program continue to grow."

During her time with the Blazers, Lowry, who served as the team's associate head coach, aided in the development of multiple student-athletes who scored at both the Conference USA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships.  She also coaches and oversaw the planning of training sessions for cross country and track & field events, ranging from 800 to 10,000 meters, along with handling the team's budget.

Lowry cut her teeth in the coaching ranks at the University of Montana, spending two seasons as an assistant coach with the Grizzlies.  In addition to guiding multiple athletes to podium finishes at the conference meet, Lowry worked directly with Jacob Lamb, who captured the Big Sky Conference's 800m championship at the 2020 indoor league meet before qualifying for the NCAA West Preliminary in the event in 2021.

As a student-athlete, Lowry competed at Iowa State University.  A four-year letterwinner during her time with the Cyclones, she saw action at the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Championship and ran on Iowa State's 2016 squad that captured the Big 12 Conference title.  Lowry also excelled in the classroom, earning Academic All-Big 12 honors five times, in addition to seven appearances on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lowry earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Iowa State in 2017 before securing her master's in exercise physiology from Montana in 2019.
