Luke Roberson joined Northwestern Athletics in July 2024 as Director of Broadcast Operations and Live Events. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing a staff that creates and produces video content for all 19 Wildcats varsity sports for in-venue shows, video boards, the Wildcats official website and home event streams for the Student U program of the Big Ten Network.
 
Prior to Northwestern, Roberson worked at Sportec Solutions as Technical Manager for Video Solutions and managed Stadium Infrastructure and Operations for all 29 MLS stadiums as well as the Arlington, Texas-based MLS Replay Review Center.
 
Roberson worked as broadcast producer for Dallas Baptist University and was promoted to director of media services and broadcasting. He managed AV/Broadcasting in 14 venues on campus, including all athletic venues, oversaw the installation of a new video board at the Basketball Arena, and the rebranding of all video boards on campus. During the transition of Dallas Baptist from the Missouri Valley Conference to the C-USA, he helped manage 1500 live events, 300 broadcasts yearly, two baseball regional appearances, and one super regional appearance. His early professional career started in the Live Events Industry as a lighting designer in 2016 where he worked concerts, broadcasts, TV events among others.
 
Roberson attended the Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, where he studied Sports Media and Strategic Communications. He was in the first class of students in the Sports Media major, and through his pioneering vision, he helped start the Ouachita Sports Digital Network (OSDN) and was actively involved in OSDN as a member of the Academic Planning for Sports Media Degrees. At Ouachita, Roberson shared his expertise with the community as an annual speaker at the High School Sports Media Conference, and also served on the Board of the Tiger Serve Day charity, a bi-annual event where 80 percent-plus of OBU students volunteer a day of service in the community. Roberson started his professional career with his alma mater, working in Football Technology and Football Creative. He worked under head coach Todd Knight, president of the American Football Coaches Association, and witnessed OBU’s three Great American Conference Championships, 27-straight conference wins from 2017-2019, and three NCAA playoff appearances.
 
Born and raised in Plano, Texas, Roberson is no stranger to Chicago, Illinois. His mother was born and raised in Chicago Heights and he continues to have Chicagoland connections with relatives in the area. His family includes parents Kris and Eric Roberson, three sisters, Tori, Ali, Julia. In his spare time, Roberson loves playing golf and running.
