Kristen joined Northwestern in January 2024. She is responsible for managing the health care of the ‘Cats Baseball program.
Mostrom is a graduate of Hope College, located in Holland, Michigan, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training. She received her Master’s Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. Kristen came to Northwestern from Portland, Maine, in which she was working within the Operating Room/Clinic setting along with serving as the Athletic Trainer for the Maine Mariners, semi-professional hockey program. Prior to this, Kristen has experience working at North Carolina State University, the University of Rochester, and Eastern Michigan University.
Mostrom is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), IATA, GLATA, and serves on the Advisory Board Council for the College Athletic Trainers' Society (CATS). Kristen holds certifications in Active Release Technique, Blood Flow Restriction, Dry Needling, Postural Restoration, and IASTM. Her areas of interest are soft tissue interventions, movement assessment, mental health, and rehabilitation.
Mostrom is originally from Livonia, Michigan, and resides in Highland Park, IL. She enjoys traveling, staying active, experiencing new food, shopping, and outdoor activities.
Kristen is married to, husband, Steven Mostrom. Together they have two children, Taegen and Makinsley, along with two black labs, Dutch and Tito.
