GET TO KNOW MAGGIE OFF THE COURSE:
What are you studying? Any career goals? I am studying to become a Physical Therapist for youth to college athletes. I am double majoring in Psychology and Global Health.
What do you love most about Northwestern Cross Country? I love that Northwestern Cross Country is a family, made up of passionate individuals. Everybody contributes their unique personality and interests, making our team into a family with some big goals.
Favorite memory of Northwestern Cross Country? My favorite memory of Northwestern Cross Country was when our team traveled to the Terrier Classic meet in Boston and got caught in a pretty bad snowstorm. We were forced  to stay in the hotel all day, to venture out only to the grocery store for food. That day, we all made powerpoints for a “Powerpoint Night” and saw some incredibly creative presentations. I think I may have laughed the hardest I ever have that night. I also learned that Jill as a man looks like John Stamos’ cousin. This snowstorm allowed us to spend so much time together as a team and made our bond even stronger. I love these girls.
What do you love about running? I love running for two main reasons: The way that it makes me feel and the people that I get to spend time with while doing it. Running allows me to feel strong and powerful, find peace after a hard day, or brings me confidence. More importantly though, running has genuinely brought me my best friends. Through running, I’ve met some of the coolest, most driven, and friendliest people. Running has made me realize that you can be a fierce athlete and competitor without comprising kindness. The best athletes are those who support others.
What hobbies do you enjoy? Outside of running, I enjoy reading, watching and playing soccer, going for walks and hikes in nature, and just being outdoors.
