No. 2 ’Cats Set for Weekend Back-to-Back against No. 20 Army, Central Michigan

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern lacrosse will play a pair of weekend games against No. 20 Army West Point and Central Michigan in Ryan Fieldhouse on Saturday, Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 15, respectively. Both matchups will be streamed on B1G+, with Saturday's clash scheduled for 1 p.m. CT and Sunday's affair slated for 3 p.m. CT. Northwestern will host its Military Appreciation Day on Saturday against the Black Knights.
 
The Wildcats (1-1, 0-0 Big Ten) are set for their first regular season back-to-back since the 2023 season.

LAST TIME OUT
Despite an eight-point performance (six goals, two assists) from senior attacker Madison Taylor No. 2 Northwestern fell 10-9 to Colorado in its home opener on Monday night inside Ryan Fieldhouse. The result ended the Wildcats' seven-game regular season winning streak that spanned back to March 30, 2025. Taylor ranks tied for second in the country with 11 goals this season after setting an NCAA single-season record a year ago with 109 goals.
 
NU commanded the draw circle, winning 17 of 21 draw controls. Junior midfielder Madison Smith corralled a game-high seven draw controls.
 
Junior attacker Taylor Lapointe dished out a career-high four assists in the contest, while graduate student attacker Olivia Adamson, sophomore attacker Aditi Foster and sophomore midfielder Hannah Rudolph each scored a goal.
 
Graduate student goalkeeper Jenika Cuocco posted her second consecutive double-digit save performance, racking up 11 saves on a .524 save percentage.
 
SCOUTING ARMY
The Black Knights (2-0, 0-0 Patriot League) enter Saturday's affair on the back of a 23-7 win over Marist. Army fields a pair of Tewaaraton Watch List honorees: midfielder Brigid Duffy and attacker Allison Reilly.
 
Duffy, a two-sport athlete (soccer, lacrosse) at Army, was selected as the NCAA Division I Preseason Midfielder of the Year by USA Lacrosse Magazine. She has amassed 275 career points in 55 appearances.
 
Reilly, Duffy and goalkeeper Lindsey Serafine all earned Patriot League Preseason Player of the Year honors at their respective positions.
 
The Black Knights boast the nation's No. 2 scoring offense, averaging 21 goals per game in 2026. Attacker Lily Valentini has tallied a team-high 11 goals this season, while Reilly's 17 points paces the offense.
 
Defender Ellie Nawa ranks fifth in the nation in draw controls per game, pulling in 22 in two games.
 
On the defensive end, Army has conceded 10.5 goals per game. Serafine has recorded 13 saves on a .382 save percentage.
 
Saturday will mark the first-ever matchup between the two programs.
 
SCOUTING CENTRAL MICHIGAN
The Chippewas (0-1, 0-0 MAC) will play on Friday evening before Sunday's matchup in Ryan Fieldhouse.
 
Central Michigan opened its season with a 25-0 road loss to Notre Dame on Feb. 8. The program's non-conference slate includes seven consecutive road games to begin the campaign.
 
Attacker Kelsey Barratt is the Chippewas' top returning scoring from 2025, having posted 20 points last season.
 
Goalkeeper Leila Kahler recorded seven saves on a .269 save percentage in Central Michigan's season opener.
 
Sunday will mark the third meeting between the two schools, all dating back to 2022. Northwestern holds a 2-0 record, most recently securing a 27-3 win over the Chippewas on March 3, 2024.
