Wildcats Host Badgers for Ranked Senior Saturday Meet

EVANSTON, Ill. - After posting dominant victories for both men's and women's swimming and diving at UChicago, the Northwestern Wildcats return to Evanston for a ranked Big Ten Senior Saturday matchup. NU will host the Badgers for a conference meet, as well as celebrate its seniors, on Jan. 17, slated to start at 4 p.m. CT.
Last weekend, 10 Wildcats claimed personal bests, setting the tone for NU's strong performance. On the men's side, Oliver Feng, Stuart Seymour, Jack Doyle and Josh Staples improved their individual records. Teya Nikolova and Zoe Nordmann highlighted the day for the women's team, joined by Sydney Smith, Lindsay Ervin, Hana Shimizu-Bowers and Kayla Rodriguez, with personal best marks.
The No. 22-ranked women's squad claimed a 247-45 victory over the Maroons, setting pool and personal records, while winning at least the top two finishes in each event. The No. 25-ranked men's team took a 222-76 win at the University of Chicago, as Adam Cohen posted impressive scores on the boards to break a program record in the 3-meter diving event.
Both Wildcat teams maintain ranked positions in the latest College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) poll. The Northwestern women's team returned to the rankings, moving from a non-ranked position to No. 21 in the poll. The men's team dropped from No. 24 to No. 25.
Wisconsin also brings two ranked squads to the meet on Saturday, as the women's team is currently ranked No. 15. Set for a competitive day of conference competition, the No. 19 men's team is coming off a 175.5-85.5 win over UC San Diego.
The conference clash will begin by celebrating Northwestern's 12 seniors and will be hosted at the Norris Aquatics Center.
