Three Wildcats Named Big Ten Golfers to Watch for 2025-26

EVANSTON, Ill. (August 27, 2025) – In an announcement from the Big Ten Conference Wednesday afternoon, Daniel Svärd, Ethan Tseng, and Archie Finnie have all been named Big Ten Golfers to Watch for the 2025-26 season.
Svärd enters his senior season ranked 19th on the PGA Tour University standings, and recently advanced to the Round of 16 at the 125th U.S. Amateur Championship at The Olympic Club. Svärd, a two-time Big Ten Individual Champion, placed second on the team last season with a stroke average of 71.57, and claimed his third career collegiate victory at The Goodwin in March.
Tseng begins the campaign after appearing in 27 rounds for the 'Cats last year. He picked up top-25 finishes at The Prestige (12th) and The Goodwin (21st) and was an All-Big Ten First Team selection in 2024, picking up his first career win at the 2023 Fighting Irish Classic.
Finnie rounds out the group, with the junior appearing in 22 rounds in the previous season. Finnie picked up a pair of top ten finishes last year, including seventh place at the St Andrews Links Collegiate in his native Scotland.
The Wildcats are set to open the season at the Sahalee Players Championship, September 6-7, in Sammamish, Washington.
