EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's soccer will open up its 2025 home schedule on Sunday afternoon when it hosts Kent State. Kickoff from Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium is slated for 4 p.m. CT on B1G+.

Northwestern is unbeaten (4-0-1) in its last five home openers, dating back to Spring 2021, and has won eight of its last 10 (8-1-1) home openers.

Last time out, Northwestern suffered its first setback at No. 1 Duke, 3-0. First-year midfielder Keira Kemmerley and junior goalkeeper CJ Roy both made their collegiate debuts in the contest. NU fell to 0-2 all-time against No. 1 ranked teams in the United Soccer Coaches Poll and 0-2 all-time against the Blue Devils.

Northwestern boasts an 19-4-4 record (.778 winning percentage) in regular season non-conference play since 2022. Northwestern's 19 regular season non-conference wins are second-most in the Big Ten over that span.

Northwestern returns 65% of its scoring production from 2024, which ranks fourth among all Big Ten programs. In 2024, Northwestern first-years accounted for 27.6% (5,191/18,810) of total minutes played and 40% (8/20) of total goals scored.

Senior midfielder Caterina Regazzoni, sophomore forward Kennedy Roesch and sophomore forward/midfielder Alex Fallon were named to the 2025 Big Ten Women's Soccer Players to Watch List. The honor marks the third consecutive season Regazzoni has been named to the list, while Roesch and Fallon are making their first appearances.

In her rookie campaign, first-year Kennedy Roesch tallied six goals, the most by a Wildcat first-year since 2010 (Kate Allen, six). The 'Cats are 5-0-2 in games that Roesch tallies a goal.

Sunday's meeting will mark the third meeting in program history between the 'Cats and Golden Flashes. The Wildcats are 2-0 in the previous meetings, both in Evanston.

After Sunday's matchup, Northwestern will hit the road again on Thursday, Aug. 28 for a matchup at Milwaukee. Kickoff from the Cream City is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
