Under Armour and Northwestern University Announce Extension of Partnership

EVANSTON, Ill. - Under Armour and Northwestern University today announced the extension of their partnership. Under Armour has been the official outfitter of Northwestern's 19 varsity intercollegiate athletic programs since 2012.

Northwestern was Under Armour's first entry into supporting athletics in the Big Ten conference. During the 13 years partnered together, Northwestern has experienced the biggest athletic accomplishments in school history, including 21 conference titles, and seen stunning facility transformations on-campus. The tremendous success on the field includes winning the 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse National Championship, the 2021 and 2024 NCAA Division I Field Hockey National Championships, and seeing two different Wildcats earn individual national titles in the 2014 and 2022 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. The Northwestern Football program earned its first bowl victory in 64 years at the Gator Bowl in 2013, and has proceeded to appear in seven bowl games, including winning each of their last five. Northwestern's Men's Basketball earned the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017 and then returned to the tournament in back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024.

"We are honored to continue our partnership with Northwestern University and provide their athletes, coaches and fans the best product to perform at their best," said Sean Eggert, Senior Vice President of Global Sports Marketing at Under armour. "As Chicago's Big Ten Team, Northwestern benefits from a rich sports culture and a supportive community that fuels their drive for success. We are excited to be given the opportunity to extend our partnership serving their student athletes and all associated with this prestigious university for several years to come."

Under Armour will continue to empower Northwestern Athletics through uniforms that make athletes look good, feel good and play good. With the ARMR37, Northwestern Football will wear the most innovative, tested, and athlete-focused uniform on the planet, with designs to excite both the student athletes and Northwestern fans. We will continue to collaborate with the student athletes to design jerseys based on meaningful moments that appeal to the entire Northwestern fanbase.

"Northwestern's partnership with Under Armour has been integral to one of the most successful and transformative eras in our athletic department's history," remarked Combe Family Vice President for Athletics & Recreation Mark Jackson. "Together, we've celebrated championships, iconic victories, and the unveiling of world-class facilities—all while elevating the brand of 'Chicago's Big Ten Team'. As we look to the future, we are excited to continue this incredible journey, building on our shared success to create even more meaningful moments and lasting memories for our student-athletes and fans."

To further elevate the student athlete playing experience, Northwestern is undergoing two major facilities upgrade projects - a new Softball stadium opening in 2026 and a new Football stadium opening in 2026. These facilities, alongside the state-of-the-art Walter Athletics Center and Welsh-Ryan Arena, allow Northwestern to keep building the most supportive infrastructure for these athletes to strive for more.

With over a decade of success together, Northwestern and Under Armour remain committed to providing student-athletes with the resources to compete at the highest level, achieve their goals, and build a legacy of excellence on and off the field.
