Wildcats Set to Compete at Moon Golf Invitational

EVANSTON, Ill. (Feb. 14, 2025) – Northwestern Women's Golf returns to the course this weekend, taking part in the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Florida. The tournament runs from Sunday (Feb. 16) through Tuesday (Feb. 18) and will feature eleven teams ranked in the Top 25 of the most recent Clippd Poll.
The Wildcats will open three straight days of golf beginning on Sunday morning, with the first two days kicking off with a 7:00 a.m. CT tee time. Tuesday's final round will be a shotgun start beginning at 8:00 a.m. CT.
Last year at this event, the team turned in an impressive final-round showing, surging to a third-place finish.
The Field
The #9 ranked 'Cats will be competing in a seventeen-team field consisting of host-school Louisville, #4 South Carolina, #6 Texas, #7 Florida State, #10 Virginia, #12 Wake Forest, #15 UNC, #16 Mississippi, #18 Texas A&M, #19 LSU, #21 Auburn, Clemson, UCF, Tennessee, Alabama, and Augusta.

Northwestern Lineup Last Time Out
The 'Cats claimed fourth place at the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic to open the spring campaign. The team fired a score of 861 (290-283-288) across three days of competition.
Ashley Yun and Lauryn Nguyen both placed in the Top-5 of the individual leaderboard, with the duo placing in fourth and fifth respectively. Yun fired four birdies across her final round to finish the event at five-under-par with a 211 (72-70-69) while Nguyen carded consecutive 69s over the first two rounds to finish a stroke behind Yun with a 212 (69-69-74).

After the Moon Golf Invitational, the 'Cats will continue their southern swing in South Carolina, competing in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, March 3-5, in Hilton Head Island.
